3 essential amino acids

2:1:1 ratio of Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine

Essential component of triathlon nutrition

Proteins consist of amino acids that each have their specific role in the human body. Nine amino acids are considered as “essential” because the human body cannot produce them itself. 3 of those, as a result of their chemical structure, are called “Branched Chain Amino Acids” or BCAA: Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine.

These amino acids have a couple of unique characteristics that make them indispensable for our health, performance and muscle growth.

  • Leucine: important for the recovery of muscles as it starts the synthesis of muscle protein.
  • Isoleucine: has a positive effect on the absorption of glucose and is therefor important before, during and after the workout
  • Valine: reduces the feeling of fatigue resultant in prolonged performance

Usage of BCAA before training can postpone the beginning sensation of fatigue. During the exercise, they can function as a source of energy. After training, BCAA will help with muscle recovery and reduce muscle soreness.

Take 6 capsules immediately after training, or 3 before and 3 after training.
